We are passionate about wine and food and we want to share our passion with you!

The Purple Grape sources great wines from around the world.

We sell wines from the large and famous to the small and lesser known estates, both at our store (see map) and here, online.

Buying wine today is much more exciting and enjoyable than it ever used to be. Consumers are more passionate about wine and especially good quality wine.  In some cases, people have found a style of wine they like, and they stick to it, picking up the same bottle of Rioja or Shiraz every time, confident in the knowledge that they know what they are getting. Of course, playing it safe does have its advantages, but for every occasion that it prevents disappointment, there are many times that it will stop you from discovering a delicious wine - and, quite probably, a bargain.  Here at The Purple Grape, we aim to offer and to help you discover those delicious wines that you may be missing out on.

We are running regular wine tasting evenings, which we hope will help you to explore and discover some great wines, but also to have lots of fun.  Check out our News & Events page for upcoming events.

And remember - life really is too short to be drinking bad wine.

We also serve delicious Lavazza coffee and cakes and a selection of light lunches and snacks, including cheese and charcuterie platters, to complement our selection of wines available by the glass.  Check out a sample menu in the 'Our Café' section.

Our store and café opening hours are:

Sunday & Monday - Midday to 5:00 pm

Tuesday to Saturday - 11:00 am to 8:00 pm

Special Event nights - Open until 10:00 pm

We also have some amazing, but very affordable, artwork, produced mainly by local artists, on display and for sale at The Purple Grape, as well as wine-related gift items, such as carafes, decanters and gift boxes.
