Fortified/Dessert Wine
Wine fortification was originally developed as a means of preserving wine, for long journeys at sea, by adding to it a distilled spirit (usually grape brandy). Although this need for preservation is no longer valid, the process has continued, as it can infuse the most delicious and distinctive flavours into the wine. The most famous of these fortified wines are port, sherry, madeira, marsala and vermouth and we have a small, but very select, range for you to choose from.
